DCLA is the vision of Dr. Sylvia Lamenta. She has worked with youth for more than 25 years. Dr. Lamenta has a Masters Degree In Education and a PHD in Counseling. Her experience is in leadership, business, and working with youth and their families.
Dr. Lamenta takes care in selecting highly qualified staff. Currently included are teachers with Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Exceptional Student Education, Certified Para Professionals, and experienced assistants.
DCLA uses a variety of researched based accredited curriculums such as Abeka and Reading Mastery Plus, Pass, McMillian, etc. as well as any material needed to meet the needs of the individual.
Student growth is monitored through National Norm Reference Testing currently Stanford 10/Terra Nova, OTIS, and FCAT upon request. DCLA follows or even exceeds Sunshine State Standards.
DCLA is proud to be affiliated with the Florida 1 Virtual School. Our students have access to more than 85 accredited courses on request.
